In stage 1 and 2, to observe and survey the site, I used camera to take photo of the surrounding and record through sketches. I have been practice my sketches in line drawing which the way of work I quite confident with, so, I keep using it to makes sure my initial record clean and clear and understandable to me. Photos is used as a reference in colour, light and shadow, and more details in my drawing practice. Photography recording is quick and efficient, fill the imperfection of quick sketch. Since I set no attempt for this project, in the process of view selection, I just draw anything that I think is related to the site specifically those element which identify the place.
While dealing with the sketches, I can find more information that I have not explore. Therefore I keep going back to the site every times I found the new point of interest. I am not only look for new information each time I went back to the site but also observe the changes taking place compared to my last harvest.

Development is the biggest difficulty I had ever met in this project. The drawing project suppose to give me a lot of freedom to explore and testing anything I can think of but in the same time put myself into uncertainty. I have to admit the later stage of this project doesn't go very well, even though I was being told that I had collected pretty much sketches from the site. I was unable to give myself an aim, for example what am I drawing this for? what is the function I need to give to my drawing? When there is noting to respond to, I could hardly know which direction to go.
In other hand, I am very concern about the 'right thing to do'. The only restriction in this project is the guideline given by the tutors, stated the process we should gone through rather than advise us to make a piece of work on a specific purpose or function; and the starting point is set. Literally, the project work as usual, like what we have been done in year 1, but, the theme of 'drawing' lead practice to an endless work. I put myself into a difficult situation, either stick to the guideline and draw nonsense or defy the requirement and draw something that I want to.
After a few times meeting with tutors, I was advised to work with my sketches, form a piece of work which is more finished. Tutors also showed me other artist work, to suggest the possible way of working with colour and lines and the use of material.
Through this project, I have realised my weakness and problem and in the same time also help me to prepare for the future project.
